What the bill of entry list actually is
ICEGATE publishes the bill of entry filing errors as a table: message id, code, and a short description. The September 2025 file uses CACHI01 and codes from 000 through 999, with gaps. 000 means the bill of entry was submitted. The rest are rejections. The wording on this page is that table, with the module column removed, including the spellings the PDF uses.
A code is not a paragraph of advice. “Invoice value is not tallying with item value” means the invoice total on the bill of entry does not add up to the item lines. The useful next step is clerical: open the commercial invoice and the item rows and see which figure was keyed. The same pattern holds for a missing supplier name, a unit, or a bill of lading number that does not match the IGM.
India first, and why FASAH is not on this page
Customs brokers and clearance desks in India search the code the portal just showed them. The official file is a PDF, which is a poor place to land when a job is stuck. This decoder is that lookup, limited to codes we transcribed from the September 2025 list, with a link back to the PDF so you can confirm the row.
Saudi FASAH and UAE Mirsal reject declarations too, often because the invoice, packing list, and transport document disagree. They do not publish a numbered error list in the same public way. Inventing FASAH codes would be worse than saying so. Use the shipment document consistency checker for that comparison. It is a field check, not a filing.
What this page will not decide
It will not classify goods, pick an HSN or CTH, or calculate duty. When the published message is about a notification, a licence balance, or a GST registration, the note tells you which field to compare and who usually holds the source document. Whether the licence covers the shipment, and whether a refund is due, is outside this page.
Shipping-bill and EGM codes are a different list. If the acknowledgement says SB and three digits, do not force it through the bill-of-entry file. Customs-house IGST refund notes are the place to confirm those codes. This decoder will say the code is not in the BE list rather than guess.
The check runs in the browser. Nothing you paste is uploaded, and nothing is sent to ICEGATE. You still file. If supplier invoices on the accounts side are the actual problem, the invoice mismatch policy builder drafts owners for GRN and price holds. It does not validate an e-invoice.
When a code is worth a discovery call
One code, explained, unblocks one filing. The same 2xx or 3xx invoice and item codes, week after week, are a data problem: someone is retyping the commercial invoice into the bill of entry. A short discovery call can look at a sample of those filings and quote a pre-file check, or a desk assistant that answers the codes the team already sees. Clear quote after a short discovery call. There is no price on this page.
That work sits under workflow automation. Larger builds start with short paid discovery.
